Strokes' Frontman, Pharrell, & Santogold Working On Track for Converse

Julian Casablancas, Santogold & PharrellFor the 100th Anniversary of Converse shoes, a track has been commissioned a track to be made by Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas, Santogold and N.E.R.D.'s Pharrell. It will be a free download. The beginnings of the track came from Pharrell and Julian Casablancas met up in New York City, when Pharrell saw Santogold at one of her SXSW shows she was brought in to help with the song. Santogold, whose real name is Santi White told Gigwise: "It's like one of the main ways to get our music heard now and so it's stupid for artists to shy away from that," commenting the tune is, "such a Pharrell track. Everybody on it does their own separate thing and we didn't do it together so it ends up being just this weird long song with sort of everybody with lots of their own personalities separate, everybody really represented themselves well on it.” Well now we know what Julian Casablancas has been doing in his time away from the Strokes.
