Patrick WolfMulti-instrumentalist Patrick Wolf has announced that he will release a new album in February of 2009. It will feature Alec Empire, formerly of Atari Teenage Riot. One half of the album titled "Battle" will feature more punky and aggressive songs and will feature Alec Empire. Patrick Wolf recorded five songs of "Battle" in Berlin. The other half of the double album will feature a lighter tone. Patrick Wolf says that the album was inspired by a period of depression, he went through a few years ago. He told NME.com: "I was having to play songs about a past relationship, I'd been through three management changes, I was breaking up, going insane, I revelled in my depression and began attacking politics and the people around me. It's an aggressive noise punk record." He also talked of the lighter tone of double album which deals with him after he found his tru love: "I've found my true love, who has practically saved my life, That's in contrast to the inspiration for 'Battle', which was me thinking, 'Will I ever be in love again or will I be a bachelor for the rest of my life?'" The follow-up to 2007's "The Magic Position" will be available in Febraury 2009.
