TV on the Radio on Saturday Night Live

TV on the RadioI didn't have a chance to see this when it first aired but the sound quality for the show was terrible. They made TV on the Radio sound pretty crappy, someobody should have worked on that better. People have been calling this a really dreadful performance. The band performed 'Dancing Choose' and 'Golden Age', you can judge for yourself whether it was as terrible as people made it sound. (Videos courtesy of the audio perv)

Dancing Choose didn't live up to the sound of the album, but it still rocked pretty decent. Golden Age came out terribly. That really is a shame, because the band has a lot to offer...hope this didn't put too many people off them. I just got into them through this newest album and I can't get enough. Maybe they have Flaming Lips syndrome (studio wizards who can't perform nearly as well as their albums sound)? Or maybe some techie just dropped the ball.

I don't think it was a sound tech's fault... It actually sounds like it's TVOTR's own fault. All those sounds just clash together horribly... Most of golden age sounds really off key.

I actually thought Golden age sounded better live. More funky and loose.

Good post man.. I've seen TVOR in person twice, they've never sounded anything like that. The mix was just terrible (either due to inexperience or tech issues). It's a shame too b/c they're a quality band with a innovative sound, this was a blown opportunity to be widely seen. I get so tired of music all sounding the same, esp with the rock genre, one trend after another. If anyone is interested in seeing/hearing TVOR is actually like, then youtube "wolf like me on letterman".
