Damon Albarn May Direct London's 2012 Olympic Ceremony

Damon AlbarnThere have been numerous reports making their way online that Blur/The Good, The Bad & The Queen/Gorillaz/Monkey frontman may be the new artistic director of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Albarn has previously worked on the Olympics when he made music and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett created animations for the BBC for the Beijing Olympic games. The Independent is saying that Albarn and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games have had "preliminary discussions" regarding the post. They are reporting that filling the post may take months, we may not know for a while who or if Damon Albarn will be the director. Albarn is currently working on the new Gorillaz album whose collaborators include Mos Def, Kano, Lou Reed, The Horrors, Bobby Womack, Waed Bouhassoun and possibly Amy Winehouse.
