Portishead, who took eleven years to release the follow-up to their 1997 album "Portishead" have announced that they have begun work on the band's fourth album. In a recent interview withBBC 6Music Geoff Barrow said: "We're going to start writing and if all goes well it could be [out] in a year's time". With the band current with a recording contract they are able to do what they want with their music. He told NME.com that the band has "big plans" for a new project to be released "from a different angle" and added "We are publishing-free and label-free at the moment, so we're kind of… well, we're free!"
