New Charlotte Gainsbourg - IRM with Beck

Well if you didn't know Beck and Charlotte Gainsbourg worked on a new album titled "IRM". It is to be released in January via Because. Today on Charlotte Gainsbourg's website she started giving away the title track 'IRM' from the album. If you're wondering what IRM stands for MRI in french. Beck appears heavily on the album, he wrote the music, co-wrote the lyrics, served as producer and mixed the album. Beck talks about how he and Charlotte Gainsbourg collaborated on the album:

I pulled a bunch of songs out. And then I wrote a few, with her in mind, but when we spent time together they changed because I got more of a feeling of where she wanted to go. We got in the studio and I could see all the possibilities.

Charlotte Gainsbourg talks about the inspiration for the album from a water-skiing accident: "I had to do so many [MRIs] and every time I was in that tube I was thinking it would make great music, following the x-ray eye from the cortex to medulla." The first single from the album will be 'Heaven Can Wait' where Charlotte and Beck duet, you can watch a teaser of the album below.
