Peter Gabriel First Album in Seven Years, Will Cover Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Radiohead

Peter Gabriel - Scratch My BackPeter Gabriel has announced that he will be releasing his first new album in seven years. The new album is titled "Scratch My Back" and will consist of covers from Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Lou Reed and Paul Simon. The album was produced by Bob Ezrin. The album is said to be a "song swap" meaning that the artist that he covered will probably cover some of Peter Gabriel's material. Composer John Metcalfe said about the album: "It's a song swap, but the songs are not simply covers, they are quite major reinterpretations of some famous stuff. It's quite radical and we're hoping that people really get it and enjoy it." He also says that the covers of Peter Gabriel's material may be released once a month on his Gabriel's Lunar Club. The album is expected to be released in spring 2010. The supposed tracklisting for the new album is below. (Picture from Stereogum)
