Acoustic Thursday: Beck

BeckBeck has a new found hobby, he is recording albums for his Record Club project. His buddies help him and so far he has done "The Velvet Underground & Nico", now he is doing Leonard Cohen's "Songs of Leonard Cohen" and will be covering Skip Spence's "Oar" with Wilco. Before this ambitious project he re-recorded his whole 2008 release "Modern Guilt" acoustically with the help of his friends. The tracks from the session have not been released and were only on put up on his Vimeo account. The reimaginations of the tracks force to look for different sounds that were available on the record, produced by Danger Mouse. It forced to have a more organic sound with strings, shakers, sparse drums, used only when necessary on the track. For 'Orphans', he just pretty much uses the guitar and drums. You can download the track below and see the video for the song.
