After meeting Grizzly Bear in Japan and introducing them to Jay-Z and Beyonce, she seemed to try to get into the indie scene. Two months ago Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear tweeted about her cover of Dirty Projectors' 'Stillness Is The Move'. Now the track has his the internet. The cover is rooted in Soul Mann & the Brothers' 'Bumpy's Lament'. Solange does an extremely good job of hitting the high notes and recreating the Dirty Projectors' vocal harmonies. Great track. Who knew Beyonce's younger sis would be an indie fan?
One week later, I still can't get enough of this cover. Might be my favorite cover of the year, next to Desktop's "My Boo" cover.
