What's Coming for Open Source CMS in December 2011

Welcome to the November 2011 installment of our what's coming from the open source projects in the next month. If you feel that your project was left out, we invite you to email us at to have a project representative added to the list of people we contact for updates.


In November, Drupal (news, site) founder Dries Buytaert along with Jacob Singh and Ron Pruett from Drupal company Acquia (news, site) went to India in order to increase awareness of Drupal there. In the process, they:
  • Organized DrupalCamps to jumpstart local communities.
  • Talked to the large system integrators.
  • Did traditional PR with the media and press.
In answer to the fact that over 3,000 open Drupal positions are available on, and that demand just keeps growing, Acquia announced Acquia U, a "training and employment opportunity for college grads as well as career changers that want to jump into the hot Drupal development market."
